Acceptance

By accessing or using the website walkingturtlepress.com (the “Site”) and purchasing products offered by Walking Turtle Press/Julie Szamocki (“we,” “our”), you agree to these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Site or purchase the products.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to make a purchase, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Products

We sell a self-published book about music therapy in hospice in two formats:

  • Paperback (shipped within the United States)

  • eBook (delivered as a download)

Product details, pricing, and format options are shown on the Site at the time of purchase.

Orders and Payment

When you place an order, you authorize us to process the payment using the payment method selected at checkout. Payments and order processing may be handled by Wix.com and its third‑party providers. Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and policies. We may cancel or refuse an order if payment is declined, if we suspect fraud or error, or if the product is unavailable.

Delivery and fulfillment

Paperback: We ship paperbacks from our office in Minnesota to addresses within the United States. Shipping times vary based on carrier and destination. We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers.

eBook: Your eBook is delivered as a download. After purchase, download instructions/access may be provided to you through the means described at checkout (for example, an on-screen download and/or email containing access instructions). Download access may require the email address used at purchase.

Returns, refunds, and cancellation

Because the eBook is delivered digitally, you generally cannot return or refund the eBook after purchase/download access is provided. For paperbacks, returns or refunds are handled case-by-case. To request a return/refund, contact us at julie@walkingturtlepress within 30 days of delivery. We may require proof of purchase and may refuse requests that do not meet our return criteria.

License and intellectual property

The Book 'Loves Music' (including its text, design, and any accompanying materials) is owned by Walking Turtle Press/Julie Szamocki. Unless expressly stated otherwise, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • use the paperback for personal reading; and

  • download and read the eBook for personal use.

You may not reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, rent, lease, or publicly display the Book (or any portion of it) without our written permission.

No medical advice

The content of the Book is for educational and informational purposes only and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. You should consult qualified healthcare professionals for questions related to medical care.

Customer conduct

You agree not to:

  • misuse the Site or attempt to gain unauthorized access;

  • interfere with or disrupt the Site, servers, or networks;

  • provide false or inaccurate information during checkout;

  • violate any applicable laws or these Terms.

Disclaimers

Our website is built and hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix provides the online e‑commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services. Our use of the Wix platform is also subject to Wix’s own terms and policies, available at https://www.wix.com/about/terms-of-use.

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • the Site and products are provided “as is” and “as available”;

  • we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation;

  • we are not responsible for losses or damages caused by third-party services (including payment processors and shipping carriers).

Limitation of liability

We are not responsible for any unavailability, errors, or loss of functionality caused by Wix.com or its third‑party service providers, including hosting, payment processing, or technical issues beyond our reasonable control. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Walking Turtle Press/Julie Szamocki and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, or data arising from or related to your use of the Site or purchase of products. Our total liability for any claim related to these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the product giving rise to the claim.

Links to third-party sites

The Site may include links to third-party websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will reflect the most current version. Continued use of the Site after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
